Cultural context
Directly parallel to Kazakhstan's bas tartu — shared Central Asian ceremonial tradition. The Kyrgyz version is especially associated with wedding feasts (toi) and major family celebrations. Specific portions carry symbolic meaning: cheeks to honored guests, eyes to attentive listeners, ears to youth.
Preparation
Whole head cleaned and boiled until tender with onion, peppercorns, and salt. Presented intact to honored guest on a large platter. Ceremonially carved and distributed per tradition.
